YIKES

So, here it is. The picture of A.'s poor hair after I cut out that huge knot. I immediately took her to a nice hairdresser who did magic on the situation. Now it looks like long bangs when I 'fix' it up for her.

I should explain, WHY she had a knot in her hair. She twirls her hair and sucks her fingers. She has done it even before she had hair (or much of it). Here's proof:

Spring rolls

Have you ever had these? It's like a rice noodle burrito, basically. It was fun for the kids to make b/c they had to dip their rice "tortilla" in water to soften it up, put the fillings (carrots, chicken, vermicelli rice noodles), roll it up and dip it in a peanut sauce. A. LOVED it, HZ not so much. Eh...you win some, you lose some.

Notice the 'hair cut' on A. I'll do a post on that later this week. ( :

Cha-CHING!

Tooth fairy is shelling out the dough, folks! Another tooth lost for HZ. No top front teeth and a bottom incisor gone.
Every night you will find HZ in this one spot of the kids bathroom messing with loose teeth, inspecting new ones, or throwing a muscle man pose for good measure.

Pinata pics

These pictures are from a few weeks ago when HZ and A had a few of their cousins in town and had a birthday party, complete with pinata! The kids really got after it. I like how Katy is holding back K. when A. was up to bat. (:
Speaking of birthday's, thanks to everyone for the cards, emails and phone calls! I worked earlier today so I didn't get to catch all of them. But thank you, thank you, thank you for thinking of me! R. cooked out a delicious dinner and the kids got me chocolate and flowers. So sweet!

Summer fun

We've been catching up on summer activities now that HZ is better this week. We've had tons of fun and this afternoon we are going to see Toy Story 3 with Dad!

Climbing the walls

My mom and dad will probably enjoy this post. My sisters and I used to do the same thing. I never showed him how to do this! It must just be a kid thing because I think R. said he did it too as a young lad.

Random note: HZ but stickers on his door and it's driving me nuts. They are so coming off! Did you know that once I had a brilliant idea to give a 3 year old a book of 3000 stickers for his birthday? I can't believe the parents still talk to me. What the ^%#&^$*! was I thinking?

A. has her first loose tooth and she couldn't be more excited. She came downstairs in a yellow sweatband and asked, "do you have any tooth loosing equipment?" Then she said, "Well, after I lose my tooth, I think I MIGHT save my money, but you know what I say, 'I love toys', so I don't know." Then she gave me her sweatband (yep, the one in the picture)and put on her tiara because she said it was more celebration-ish.

An HZ update: After a bit of a rough week, he's doing much better this weekend. I think he'll be sad when the ice cream extravaganza will end!

Ice Cream Eating Champ

Update

Poor little guy. He threw up three times last night. He was doing so well that Rick and I gave him some ice cream last night even though the nurses said we should wait on dairy products until today. Slurpees and ice cream do not go well together! Other than that, he fell asleep around 11 last night and needed pain meds only once in the middle of the night. This morning he's perked up and keeping down pudding.

Doing great

HZ is doing fantastic. He is drinking like a champ. In fact, he is about to have his third (yes, 3RD!!) coke slurpee of the day. ( He's also had water, apple juice and gatorade.) So, he's in hog heaven. He's tired and sore, all of which is to be expected but his pain is very manageable. He's even talking! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Doctor's finished

That was quick! Dr. just came out and said that his tonsils and the adenoids (sp) were absolutely HUGE but no problems during surgery. They'll come and get us in just a minute.

Surgery update

They have wi-fi here at the hospital. They just took HZ back. No versed (stuff that makes you loopy, sleepy, and forgetful before surgery). He did fine when they took him back. I hope he was okay in the O.R. I hate that part. The doctor promised me it would be all of 15 seconds before he was completely out. Yuck. Nothing like seeing your kid wheeled away. I know it's just tonsils, nothing serious thank God. It's still hard and I hope we never have to be back here again for the kids. I'll update more after we get home.

Tonsil day for HZ! Surgery is set for 6:30 am. I will post just as soon as we get back and can get him comfortable.
