Happy grandparent's day

....belated. I had a nice post I was going to do but then the power went out. I'm having wifi trouble with my 'pictures' computer.

Flood 2010

We had 15 inches of rain yesterday. No lie.
So, this morning everyone was out looking at the stream near our house. I had to join in, because that's what you do down here. Grab your cup of coffee, digital cam, and go chat it up with neighbors while looking at fast running water. "Yep" followed by a sigh usually gets repeated quite often. It's so 'King of the Hill'.

S-A-D-N-E-S-S followed. I took pictures of a doe with her fawn who came super close to me. Then a lousy car came racing by, spooked them and you can already guess the end to this story. Mommy made it, baby didn't. I didn't know that deer could make sounds and I wish I still didn't know that. )':

Birthday party

HZ had fun with all of his friends at his birthday party today!
I like this second picture. I think it's funny how A. is going though all his birthday loot while he casually reads his new books! He actually did a great job at sharing his toys with his little sister, and this same little sister did a great job at not being jealous during his party day. Thanks, guys. You saved me one less gray hair today. But only one. (:

Happy Birthday, HZ!!!

How did you get to be 7 years old so FAST? We love ya, kiddo.

HZ had a fun day!! His friends wrote him b-day cards in class, mom met him as well as sister for lunch, had cupcakes with classmates at 2:30, opened a few presents/cards, and had family dinner at ChuckECheese. We'll have a class party for him this Sat. at a playscape. Fun times for the lad! Thank you everyone for all of the well wishes!

Being honest

What a week! I ended up with the bug and then HZ came down with high fever, sore throat yesterday and was tested positive for strep at the doctor's office this morning. At least we're getting this stuff over with now. Someone's got a birthday coming up soon!!
